The Express UU Bar Ranch offers an array of fishing experiences for anglers looking for a unique and quality fishing outing. While trout fishing is our specialty, we provide top quality fishing and the best private fishing experience in New Mexico.
The fishing at Express UU Bar Ranch is the best kept secret in Northern New Mexico. We have 3 high country trout lakes, 2 trout lakes close to our lodge, and a series of Pike ponds below Miami Lake. All our trout lakes are flies and lures only. Each licensed fisherman can keep 1 fish per day. The high country lakes are stocked each spring.
TROUT & PIKE FISHING
Try your favorite fly pattern on our brown and rainbow trout at one of our three high country lakes that often produce rainbows in the 17-20 inch category. These private, scenic vistas also offer the perfect backdrop for a friend or family getaway. Fishing in the Miami Lagoons for pike is another of our popular fishing experiences. These lagoons are a private part of the ranch. The State Record Pike was caught right here on the Express UU Bar Ranch! All of our lakes and ponds are Class A Waters. This means a state fishing license is not required to fish our lakes or ponds. Ranch licenses will be available at our office at Rayado.

For an immersive fishing experience, rent one of our private high country lakes with a cabin. Rentals can be made for a weekend, or even a week. These high country lakes are stocked every spring with huge rainbow trout.

PRIVATE CABINS + Glamping
Agua Fria Lake
Agua Fria Lake, Cabin, and Glamping Tents are our pride and joy of the high country. Agua Fria is 29 acres of trout fishing heaven located in a small valley a few miles south of Garcia Peak. Agua Fria Lake has both brown and rainbow trout. Rainbow trout in the 12"-16" range are taken here regularly. Families, friends, and fishing groups can rent the cabin and lake for a week or a weekend. Agua Fria Cabin has 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom has 2 queen beds. The cabin has a full kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, and solar powered LED lighting. There is a shower and bathroom facility a short walk from the cabin which also has LED lights. Each of our 2 Glamping tents has 2 queen beds, sink, and toilet. Each tent has solar LED lighting.

$1,600.00 per night -up to 8 guests
A charge of $75.00/night/person for additional guests (includes fishing) up to a maximum of 16 guests for this cabin & 2 glamping tents.
2 night minimum and a 3 night minimum on Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.

Ojo Lake
Ojo Lake, Cabin, and Glamping Tent is our most secluded lake in the high country. Ojo is 1.5 acres and is arguably the most beautiful setting of any of our trout lakes. Rainbow trout in the 12"-16" range are taken here regularly. Families, friends, and fishing groups can rent the cabin, glamping tent, and lake for a week or a long weekend. Ojo Cabin has 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has 2 queen beds. The second bedroom has 2 full sized beds. The cabin also has a full kitchen and living room. The glamping tent has 2 queen beds. Just behind the cabin is separate building with 2 full showers and bathrooms. There is solar powered LED lighting in the cabin, the glamping tent, and the shower rooms.

$1,200.00 per night - up to 6 guests
A charge of $75.00/night/person for additional guests (includes fishing) up to a maximum of 10 guests for this cabin and glamping tent.
2 night minimum and a 3 night minimum on Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.

Middle Lake
Middle Lake at 3.6 surface acres is the best kept secret of our high country lakes. Middle has both brown and rainbow trout. There is also a boat dock and a small shelter at the edge of the lake to take a mid-day break. Trout average 12"-18" with an occasional 20" rainbow. Middle Lake Cabin is a cute little 1 room cabin with 2 twin sized beds. It has a wall heater but no kitchen facilities. There is a propane grill on the porch for cooking. There is an old fashioned outhouse a short distance from the cabin. Upon request, we will provide 2 lanterns for lighting or you can bring your favorite lantern.

Middle Lake Cabin Rental Package Includes:

$400.00 per night - up to 2 guests
A charge of $75.00/night/person for additional guests (includes fishing) up to a maximum of 4 guests for Middle Lake. We do allow you to pitch a tent at Middle Lake.
2 night minimum and a 3 night minimum on Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.

Sweetwater Lake is located within easy driving distance of our lodge. Stocked with rainbows, this 7 acre lake is located in the canyon between Ortega and Rivera Mesas. This is one of the first of our trout lakes to open in the spring and provide some of the best spring trout fishing in northern New Mexico. 14"-16" browns and rainbows are the rule in April and May. Purchase our special Express UU Bar Ranch Fly Box and the selection of flies specifically designed for our ranch. Fishing at Sweetwater is $50.00/person/day for guests staying at the lodge.

Miami Ponds are for Pike! Red and white spoons and floating plugs in the spring drive the Pike crazy! Fly fishermen can have the most challenging fly fishing experiences of their lives trying to land a large Pike with a fly rod. The ponds are just a 10 minute drive from the lodge. Fishing at the Miami Lagoons is $50.00/person/day for guests staying at the lodge.
